World's Best Job?
Talk about a great promotion from Australian tourism officials! US$100,000 a year to lounge on the beach and write about it. Job qualifications: swim and speak English. More than 12,000 video applications so far! Take a look at this ABC News video , called Best Job in the World Applications. Interested? You have until February 22 to apply.

Wow… this is absolutely “NEW” method to apply for a job; however it interesting and fun.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the employers will choose the applicants who can just speak the English language and... swim?? It that all? They do not have to have experience… college certificate... qualifications… skills… and maybe if they know other languages? Well... If this all it takes to get a job then we just need to film ourselves.
I think that it’s a very interesting because the Australian tourism official had a creative idea, which is rarely done in some countries. It’s creative because it depends on unusual skills as swimming to work or to apply for a job, and the employees will have fun while lounging on the beach and in the same time will write about it, so it’s really WOW
ReplyDeleteI liked a lot the job application videos because they were funny and in the same time they really attract me as tourist to visit Australia seriously. Also, I hope if we had such interesting job in the UAE because we have many skills that are still undiscovered rather than writing only. What a Job !
It is something intersesting and Funny at the same time. its absloutley a new way to apply for a job .. but how those people are going to be chosen!! they are just on SCREENS !!

imagine if applying for jobs here in the UAE depends on "VIDEOING" ur self talking about your self ,skills, certificates and qualifications and then sending it to the place you want to work in ... will you do it!!

I mean look at that all of us at the communication college and look at that .. look to where communication reach these days .. I still remember what we had studied with Mis J at the international news criticisms and all what we learned about communication and media .. I mean isn't that it self amazing .. to see to which level we already reach in case of communicating what we want .. that make me so unenthusiastic .. ah I want to live longer to see to where this crazy ideas will go hahahaha

ReplyDeleteSuch a weird thing.. I don't think they will apply it in our country.. because here in the UAE they usually look for other skills like: langueges, communication skills, ...etc., certificates and having experience in the work environment.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of seeing the person skill in swimming for example but, there are some other things they have to look at it rather than English language and swimming

WoW!! It is amazing.. I really like the idea. It is a way to arise creativity between people. I think it would be a great opportunity if we had the same here in UAE. Of course not the same job, but the same way of applying for it.. It would be great if we replaced the boring written C.V. with a creative video.. =)
ReplyDeletethe one who come up with this idea is really smart. With a video of somebody, the employee can see the employment, study his body posture and even evaluate his language. They can do all kind of things with the video. I think in video people will be more relaxed than interviews.
